Reference points visible from different scanning directions

With complex geometries, markers applied directly to flat surfaces are not always clearly visible. These cylindrical magnetic marker holders position reference markers at an angle of 45° or 90°. By combining both variants, you can create a reference pattern that can be detected from different directions.

Particularly suitable for dynamic tracking

These holders are especially useful when using 3D scanners with dynamic tracking. In this setup, the tracker follows reference points on the object to continuously determine its position and orientation. Thanks to the different angles, the markers can be positioned so that they remain clearly visible to the tracker while you move around or inside the object with the scanner.

Practical example: scanning the interior of a van

At TetraVision, we use these holders, for example, when scanning the interior of a van. We position the tracker outside the vehicle and attach several cylindrical marker holders to the bodywork in locations that remain clearly visible to the tracker. We then enter the vehicle with the scanner to scan the cabin.

This allows the reference points on the outside of the vehicle to remain visible to the tracker while we work inside.

The tracker continuously compensates for any movement of the van using dynamic tracking.

Quick to isntall and reuse

The magnetic attachment makes it easy to place, reposition and reuse the holders on suitable metal surfaces. This is particularly useful for temporary scanning setups and when the position of the reference points needs to be adjusted.

Each set contains 24 cylindrical magnetic marker holders with a diameter of 12 mm:

• 12 holders with a 45° angle
• 12 holders with a 90° angle
