Small test print on our new 3D printer
We recently got a new 3D printer to support our internal fixturing activities. The first object to come off the print bed was, of course, a benchy.
So we immediately put this into the CT scanner for a closer look at the quality.
At first glance, the quality of the 3D print is fine, especially for our applications.

On the mesh we extracted from the CT scan, all the individual details of nearly every print line are clearly visible.

In the quad view, we see a cross section in each of the 3 main directions through the volume of the CT scan.

On this we can go zoom in and take a closer look at everything.

The screen capture below shows the use of the Zeiss Inspect X-Ray viewer software. This is very useful for examining the CT scan in detail.
