Scanning of artistic, organic masks
A series of Venetian masks were digitised using optical 3D scanning.
Process: step by step
Process
- Spraying of the masks with water based anti-reflex spray
- Setup in free state with some reference points on the masks
- Digitizing the object
Technology
- GOM Atos III Triple scan with 320MV (measuring volume)
- Automatic rotation table
Post-processing
- We only needed to close very few holes. (=closed mesh)
- Scan filtering to reduce file size.
