Digitalisation for Reverse Engineering
3D Scanning is often the first step for Reverse Engineering of existing parts. This can be desirable for various applications such as:
- Creation of a spare parts libraries
- Performing finite element analysis (FEA)
- Reproduction and scale models
- …
Process: step by step
We scanned the MTB Cassette using a GOM Atos Capsule scanner and our automated ATOS Scanbox 4105
Following process steps have been followed:
- Clamping of the cassette for easy handling
- Spraying with water based anti-reflex spray
- Digitizing the part
After scanning the part, it was aligned and filtered to reduce the file size.
