CT scanning was chosen for quality control of this connector. The challenge with this component lies in the deep cavities and undercuts. However, thanks to CT scanning, we can obtain 100% data, so this does not pose a problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lightweight fixture out of foam holds the part in place during the CT scan. This needs to be stable enough so that there is no movement of the part, but it also needs to be very lightweight so that there is still good contrast with the plastic material of the part.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Define the optimal CT settings and zoom range (voxel size).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Let the scanner do the work and scan the part.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
