Small test print on our new 3D printer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We recently got a new 3D printer<\/strong> to support our internal fixturing activities. The first object to come off the print bed was, of course, a benchy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we immediately put this into the CT scanner<\/strong> for a closer look at the quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At first glance, the quality of the 3D print is fine, especially for our applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the mesh we extracted from the CT scan, all the individual details of nearly every print line are clearly visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the quad view, we see a cross section in each of the 3 main directions through the volume of the CT scan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this we can go zoom in and take a closer look at everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The screen capture below shows the use of the\u00a0Zeiss Inspect X-Ray viewer software<\/a>. This is very useful for examining the CT scan in detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
