A magnificent float<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In response to the annual cultural festival \u2018De Brabantsedag<\/strong>\u2019 in Heeze, we are highlighting a less common scanning assignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brabantsedag?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

De Brabantsedag in Heeze is an annual cultural festival <\/strong>during which 16 floats parade through the village. All linked to the history of Duchy of Brabant<\/strong> and telling a story, built by a group of volunteer float builders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What makes this event so special is that the floats not only depict history, but often do so in a surprising, theatrical and contemporary way. Despite its historical subject matter, the event is vibrant and contemporary: it connects the past with the present through contemporary perspectives, modern techniques and a strong sense of community, creating a unique blend of heritage, art and experience.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chased away from Brabant: my beloved land<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The association \u201cVriendenkring De Rooie Hoek\u201d<\/strong>, consisting of more than 180(!) adults and children, depicted the departure of a farming family from Brabant last year with their float \u2013 \u2018Chased away from Brabant: my beloved land.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea of driving people away with the many rules surrounding agriculture in the early 1900s has been translated into a large, multi-headed bureaucratic monster.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To design this monster and convert it from 2D to 3D, a simple 3D model was made out of\u00a0cardboard\u00a0<\/strong>to get an idea of the shape. We, Tetravision, scanned this 3D model with one of our\u00a0precision scanners (GOM Atos Q)<\/strong>\u00a0so that this digital monster head could be placed in a 3D model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Design process<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

From a very simplistic, stylistic form, a detailed dragon\u2019s head<\/strong> has been created. The images alongside show the process step by step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After digitally modelling the float, the real work had yet to begin: creating the physical, functional float!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With an eye for the smallest detail, the entire model was created and finished, after which this beautiful end result was able to parade through the streets of Heeze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Results<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The result was an amazing float that won first prize at Omroep Brabant and <\/sup>second prize in the overall public vote.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new vehicle will be driving through the streets of Heeze on 31 August 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
